Post Oak Forest Board Meeting

May 7, 2013

Present: Laura, Eleanor, Tim, Kim, Joyce, Carol, Rhonda, Karen, Annell

Meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm

April minutes were read and approved

Treasurer’s Report-Not using certified mail anymore to notify residents, but using priority mail instead.  Expenses are low with funds available in savings and checking.  Received non-profit status again, we have to reapply periodically.  Online banking is great!  All dues are current.

Grounds Report-#14 has cleaned up his carport after several notices from Kim.  Items have been moved not removed.

Pool-Because we are an established pool in a private community, one option is to install a device in room next to filter ($800 plus Thomas’ labor) and a new cover.  Mobley proposed installing a new cover and an additional/new drain (apprx. $2,500) Concern is expressed on the pool being drained (55K gallons) It is preferable to do the work during the off season-after summer swimming months.

Roads-Andrew Wimsatt, Ph.D. P.E., Materials and Pavements Division Head, Texas Transportation Institute, visited the neighborhood and walked the grounds with Kim.  He recommended hiring an engineer to determine cause of deterioration, develop long lasting rehab strategies for pavement and curbs and develop cost estimates for those strategies.  This approach would cost ten to hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Repairing vs replacing seems more feasible.  Tim will contact BPI to develop next steps.

Meeting adjourned at 8:40pm
