Post Oak Forest HOA board meeting was held November 1, 2016. Meeting was called to order at 6:35 PM.
Attendees were Kim Tolman, Carol Scarmardo, Joyce Birdwell, Tom Ostrowski, Antonio Garcia, Laura Hendler, Rhonda Watson, and Laine Totah.
We discussed signing the HOA attorney agreement as presented by Tom. The board voted to sign the agreement and to retain the attorney. We would like the attorney to review our by-laws in regard to a flooding situation and to prepare a response from the board. We all agreed that we need this legal representation on this issue.
We discussed the issue of possibly adding some wording regarding an “act of God” occurrence in our by-laws. It was not decided whether we would pursue this at this point.
We got a road update from Tom. He had called the city helpline number and they came out and marked the gas and cable lines but not the water. The city noted that they would repair any road back to the way it was originally and to our satisfaction if a water line ever broke at any time. We discussed our options on continuing with the roadwork. We decided to go ahead and fix the road using our $50,000 agreed-upon budget. Tom will get with the contractor and get this project started.
Kim noted that the pool cover was put on last week. This should eliminate any need to clean the pool drains over the winter season. Carol reported on the leak by the pool. Wilson plumbing came and checked and could not find where it was leaking. The leak has appeared to dry up. We will just continue to watch for the leaking water. If we see it again we will then need to get a leak detection service to look at it. This would be paid for by the HOA.
Carol also discussed removing dead trees. This is something that needs to be done now before the leaves fall and we will be unable to tell which trees are dead. Tom and Antonio volunteered to walk the neighborhood to look for dead trees and trees that need to be trimmed and will mark them.
Antonio gave the treasurer report. All dues are paid up in full except for one unit. We are in contact with the current owners for resolution.
Our next meeting will be December 6. We will need to do the agenda for the annual meeting that will be held January 17, 2017. We need to notify all homeowners about this meeting in mid- December. The meeting was adjourned at 7:30.
